Follow Up: 2nd ICE Poker NFT Drop

Follow Up: 2nd ICE Poker NFT Drop

Our second ICE Poker NFT Drop, The Party Host, was released earlier today. In spite of raising the mint price from 0.1 to 0.25 ETH, the demand was enormous: 500 wearables sold out in under 30 minutes to 492 unique holders, and we saw many more addresses attempt to mint.

While the demand was exciting, our website servers, API, and transaction submission logic (i.e. Matic worker addresses) were overwhelmed. Many community members reported issues ranging from not being able to connect their wallet, receiving a “Token Minting Error,” or even simply not being able to load the page.

We did make preparations on this front, but, quite frankly, we underestimated demand. We know many in the DG community were disappointed by this experience, and we are taking the following steps to make it right:

  1. Increasing both our website server and API hosting capacity.
  2. Increasing our count of Polygon worker addresses that send meta-transactions to the blockchain from 4 to 20.
  3. Moving up the timing of the 3rd drop to ASAP, and will keep the price the same at 0.25 ETH.
  4. Whitelist those addresses that attempted to mint between 6:30pm – 7pm UTC but failed: They’ll have the exclusive ability to mint for the first round of the next drop.

We are targeting approximately one week from today for the 3rd drop, but will keep the community posted as we get closer. Lastly, to meet demand, we will be releasing two lines simultaneously (10 items, 100 count each) to ensure both everyone on the whitelist and additional community members are able to mint.
